Two plant species look so similar that only a closer view can reveal the differences between them. And even after a lot of google search i fail to decide who is who!
The following pictures are probably of Hippeastrum roseum as have been suggested/identified in the "efloraofIndia" group.
The above pictures were taken at Nalikul (Hooghly), West Bengal, on 08-May-2012. This species might be a Hippeastrum sp. as have been indicated above, but the ID of Hippeastrum roseum apeears to be not validated yet.
Now, look at the following pictures that i recorded at Garalgacha (Hooghly, West Bengal) on 04-May-2012. Please note the differences in anther size in these following pictures :-
